It is common for parents to support and encourage their children to achieve specialisation in a discipline. In the case of Kottiboina Srinivas, it was his childhood friends who encouraged him right from the tender age of seven to learn creative skills. The inspiration gathered from friends and mother turned Srinivas in to a reputed artist and commercial painter after he grew up.
Srinivas was born in Narasapuram of West Godavari district 31 years ago. Father Subba Rao was a small time employee and mother Ramanamma a homemaker. The inborn thirst for art made Srinivas stop his academic learning with Intermediate.
Srinivas exhibited only 50 of his classical works and won over 10 awards in various exhibitions. Ankala Art Academy in Bhimavaram, Konaseema Chitra Kala Parishad of Amalapuram and Rajamundry Chitra Kala Parishad exhibitions were among many others in which Srinivas participated.
He took training from Patnala Bhaskar a renowned artist. Srinivas though paints every variety and version; he likes to draw line drawings, nature, professional and poverty backdrop paintings. The sketches of his master Patnala Bhaskar, John Fernandes, and Michael Angelo interest Srinivas as he says there is a vast subject in every masterpiece of them.
With an exclusive target to grow as a good artist in the society, he learnt the art of painting. Many of his disciples learnt the art of animation and settled in the celluloid industry.
