Sarikonda Venkata Suresh Raju (S.V.S. Raju)

S.V.S. RajuThere is a general belief that excellence in any art is just a God gift. Of course, it is true in the case of many renowned artists. It is also to be considered that persons having a spark and inclination towards any art will prosper, depending upon their surroundings, socio, and economical conditions.

The in born quality will excel far superior compared to those who inculcated passion towards a discipline. S Venkata Suresh Raju belongs to the former category. He presented over 200 full-fledged paintings and over 10,000 sketches. Symbolism is his specialty.

Raju is the only son in the five children house to his parents Appala Raju --a teacher-- and Chittemma --homemaker.

His talent came to light all of a sudden. Though he had affection and love towards painting right from his childhood, a sketch of Lord Hanuman, which he drew when he was sick with fever, was appreciated by the family physician. This incident made Raju’s internal spark turn into a flame. Since then, he never turned around whether he was successful painter or not.

The financial crisis in the family though restricted him to stall his academics with +2, he never regretted. Raju never even went for pursuing diplomas and degrees in fine arts to perfect his talent. He went through headlong into it with only one weapon, hard work. Each one of his sketch carries a message, a sensation, an expression and of course with full of life and attraction.

“My paintings are mirror images to the day-to-day struggle of human for existence in the society”, says Raju in a humble tone. After his father's death few years ago, he had taken painting as profession to seek out a living, which was the only expertise he had.

He took off working with an advertising organisation, later worked with ‘Soundarya’, a vernacular weekly magazine, ‘Vijetha’, a vernacular daily. Presently, he is the chief artist in Hamarashehar.com.

The man, who is marching towards presenting innovative and reflective paintings, is willing to sell his works. Interested may contact him through e-mail at svsraju@HamaraShehar.com
