Falaknuma PalaceThis is an opulent palace built in 1892 by a noble - Nawab Viqar-ul-Umara, the fifth Ameer of the Paigah in the late nineteenth century.

The palace was designed by an Italian architect. Italian marble was used in the construction of the palace. The architecture of the palace takes full advantage of stained glass, carved ceilings and Italian marble staircases. Drapes and upholstery imported from France grace this western architectural marvel in Persian surroudings.

Falaknuma PalaceThe palace was purchased by Nizam Mahboob Ali Khan (VI) in 1897 and was used as a royal guesthouse. The Duke of Windsor, and other monarchs, Heads of States and Governors have stayed here.

A special pavilion forms a museum of art treasures collected from various Indian States. The palace has priceless collections of paintings, statues and English furniture.

The Palace, a private property of Wala Shah Nawab Mukarram Jah Bahadur, grandson of the seventh Nizam, is now contracted to the Taj Mahal Group of hotels to renovate and transform into a palatial luxury hotel.
